humans and planet earth

Our universe just celebrated its 13.8 billionth birthday. Our home in that vast universe, planet earth, is about 4.5 billion years old. The earliest evidence of primitive life in this home dates back about 3.5 billion years.

50 million years ago our planet was already a beautiful ecosystem; everything was there: mammals, fish, reptiles, birds, flowers, rivers, jungles, clouds, everything. Except for humans…..

Homo sapiens appeared some 350.000 years ago. How fast have we as a species evolved and where will we go from here?

economic paradigms

An economic paradigm is a set of basic principles & beliefs that describe how an economy works or should work. Such paradigms define economic and political objectives, they involve the analytical frameworks that lead to explanations of the practical functioning of economic and social policies.

“The ideas of economists and political philosophers, both when they are right and when they are wrong are more powerful than is commonly understood. Indeed, the world is ruled by little else”. John Maynard Keynes.

god bless america

The belief that the United States is inherently different from other nations, that it is exceptional, has a long history. But especially after the collapse of the Soviet Union, America was more than ever convinced of being superior and having a unique mission to transform the world; to bring their economic paradigm and democracy to other countries.

Approximately 35 years after its introduction, let´s have a look at what that neo-liberal ideology has done to the citizens of the USA.
